In Defense of Baby Shaking on the iPhone

Apple pulled a baby shaking application from the Apple App's Store recently. The NYT Bits blog has a piece titled, "In Defense of Baby Shaking on the iPhone" that makes comparisons to libraries and bookstores. Some of the library refrences are in the comments to the piece.

someone paid money for that??????????

the video shows a picture of a baby, like an ink drawing, and when you shake the phone, red Xs appear over his eyes. then you repeat with another picture.

people pay money for this crap? you mean I could have an "assassinate Lincoln" app that does the same thing? have a picture of Lincoln; shake phone; then have some red stuff appear.... what about Kennedy? Garfield? McKinley? how much would someone pay for the privilege of "killing" the president?

holy crap... I'm going to be a millionaire!

the404 talked about this

The CNET morning zoo show, the404, talked about this in a recent episode: http://www.cnet.com/8301-13952_1-10225974-81.html?tag=mncol;title

"Kill the President" iPhone app

so, what do you think? should I whip up an app for killing Lincoln? really, if people would by something like this, then the whole human race, or actually, Apple-owners, should all just kill themselves now. wasn't there a time when Apple-people felt they were better than everyone? so this "baby-killing game" and even the "president killing game" says *what* about them now?

sorry. thought I was still logged in.

I'll take the blame for the killing-the-president iPhone app.

We Can Add.....

Can you add: Let's kill; Castro, Peron, Cheney, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco...et. al.?

Mr. Effing...you know people pay for worse crap than this..... Hell listen to some of the "music" people download! But I do have to agree with you......

It's all a part of the sickness we carry as a society made up of morally deficient lost souls.
