Free Condoms & Health Advice @ Your Library?

Here's an interesting blog post from London: "We had a briefing this morning about a new service aimed at our teenage patrons. In partnership with the youth health team the library will be used as a drop-in centre for free condoms. There's also going to be regular monthly visits from health advisors."

Sounds better than the health plan my lib offers.

Interesting service

but do libraries really need to be in the business of health care/contraception? I understand what the library is trying to do, but I think I'd draw the line there. I'm all for providing the information, just not the product. Just my 2 cents.

You would think

You would think with free health care they could get all the condoms and health advice they need outside of the library.
