Multitasking Teens May Be Muddling Their Brains

Doing several things at once can feel so productive. But scientists say switching rapidly between tasks can actually slow us down.

Even though modern technology allows people to perform more tasks at the same time, juggling tasks can make our brains lose connections to important information. Which means, in the end, it takes longer because we have to remind our brains what we were working on.

Story

I posted this story because this may be one argument for libraries to at least have one very quiet place read. While I don't disagree with the trend of bringing more functions to the library I think there should be a place where quiet reading can be done.

I agree Bibliofuture. I think we need to be sure that we truly are places for everyone, even those who wish peace & quiet while they work.
