Yellow Pages on A9.com

Anonymous Patron writes "A9.com Explains how they've added Yellow Pages searching. The cool part is "Block View," which brings the Yellow Pages to life by showing a street view of millions of businesses and their surroundings. A9.com drove tens of thousands of miles capturing images and matching them with businesses and the way they look from the street."

Neato

It's actually kind of neat. I did one search for an old movie theater in Denver (the Mayan), and the picture came back with a big ol' UPS truck in front of the theater. So it wasn't very useful in that case. Try out the "walk to the left" and "walk to the right features".

Pretty cool

Pretty neat. You can take a "sideways" tour of New York or one of the other cities included.

I think they may want to consider changing the name "Block View" to "Neighborhood View" or "Avenue View". When I first read this article, I couldn't figure out how "blocking" my "view" of a particular area would be useful.
