Book for October - December 2005 has been selected.

The Search: How Google and Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture has been selected as the Librarians' Book Club selection for October - December 2005. To join in the discussion all you need to do is get a copy of the book, read it, and discuss it by posting comments on LISNEWS.

Update: 09/26 14:19 EST by B:I'd like to hear ideas on the best way to discuss the book. Should I install a seperate system for the discussions? A message board? Wiki? Email List? Something else? What's the best format for online book discussions?

What's the difference?

The only problem with a 'article' like this is it falls off the front page based on time. A bulletin board usually keeps active threads at the top. Other than that they would work the same way.

My suggestion: find some way to pin items like this at the top of the article listing so they don't fall off, or create a user called 'book club' and put these in their journal, with a link on the right.

Re:What's the difference?

There is a LISNEWS category called "Book Club". It is on the right hand side of the screen near the bottom of the main page. People checking there will find the post and can put their comments. I think using that method will be sufficient but welcome ideas if anyone has a better proposal.
