Canadian Author Yann Martel Concerned About PM's Lack of Arts Interest

Author Yann Martel (The Life of Pi) wrote of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper: "What makes him tick? No doubt he is busy. No doubt he is deluded by that busyness. No doubt being Prime Minister fills his entire consideration and froths his sense of busied importance to the very brim. And no doubt he sounds and governs like one who cares not a jot for the arts."

Concerned for the lack of acknowledgement for the arts and artists in his country, Martel said he sent the Prime Minister a book earlier this week and is planning on continuing to do so "once a fortnight". Reuters reports.

Yeah, that sounds like Harper, but would someone who fills up his time and wiles away his energy with faux-business and manufactured apprehensions bother reading anything worthwhile?
