I doubt there's many people that read more headlines about libraries than I do. A significant percentage of all those headlines I read every day deal with librarians retiring. Local papers love to cover little old retiring librarians for some reason. Most of those articles have stupid headlines like "Local Librarian Closes Book On Career" or even worse, use "Shush" or "Ssshhh". I never thought I'd see "Conan The Librarian"
Randy Umberger is retiring, and that's what they call him. He began working for the district in 1973 as a high school assistant librarian and wrestling coach. I can only hope I get a headline like that when I quit.
