Classics

Copied from Tiny Little Librarian another (probably old) Blog Meme:

The idea is to post the following list with the books I have actually read in bold lettering or otherwise highlighted. As a Canadian I think there should be a few Canadian works in there, some Attwood, Hugh McLean or "Two Solitudes". I'll google for a Canadianized version but here is my original version posted.

I find this meme interesting as an informal survey of what books people have in common.

I decided to italicize those works that I know I have read in part, but not in their entireties.

There are a couple on this list that I'm not sure whether I ever actually read completely. I'm pretty sure I at least started them. I left those unmarked.

There's only one item on the list that I've never heard of (Silko ... eh?).

This is interesting. It points up some rather astonishing gaps for somebody with a B.A. in English. I'm curious to see other people's lists.

Re:Here is my list

It's interesting that in a lot of the lists I have read, the Shakespeare plays are all marked as read. That's the only consistency I have noticed.

I posted your meme on the 'anything but' side of a hockey board that I post on and got some interesting responses. Here is the link in case you want to peruse - http://starsboard.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12226The Shakespeare remains the most read there as well.
