Dr Gayatri Mahapatra --Recipient of Rajaram Mohan Roy foundation Best paper award

Dr Gayatri Mahapatra, Reader P.G. Department of Utkal Uiversity has received RAJA RAMMOHAN ROY LIBRARY FOUNDATION BEST ARTICLE AWARD 2004. Dr Mahapatra was honoured with this award in a function organsied by RRRLF at Chennai on 21st January, 2008 by Mr Thangam Thiagraju, Minsiter for Schools and Education, Tamil Nadu Government. This momentous award giving celebration was witnessed by a large number of LIS professionals of Chennai region and outside states ion a jam packed Hall of Museum Theatre of Connemara Public Library.

Her article was adjudged as the "Best article" by the elite LIS
professional reviewers. The article titled "Need for Promoting Reading
Habits in Public Libraries:Emerging New Paradigms and Challenges" was
complimented by the distinguished professionals and RRRLF
auhtoritative resource persons.

The award carries a Certificate and cash prize of Rupees five thousand.

Dr Gayatri Mahapatra deserves this honour to her credit, becasue of
all along teaching career with varied dimension of professional
contributions and research acumen in almost all key facets of Library
& Information science in Indian panorama.

Prof. C R Karcidappa, a great LIS mentor and many eminent LIS professionals have also complimented on her achievement.

I wish her a great success and many more glorious moments in her
professional strides ahead. Her professional honour would surely be a
feather in the crown of her departmet and Utkal University as well.
