It's only taken thirty years, but I'm happy to report that Jackie Speier, once an aide to slain Congressman Leo Ryan, has been elected to his seat in the House. Anyone remember the circumstances of Ryan's death? NYT.

She is writing a book.

I'm not...

I'm not drinking that kool-aid!

Good for Rep. Speier. She is a Catholic school grad so I might have voted for her (although she is a Democrat -quite the dilemma for me). It is obvious that the people of her district did indeed want her, and she will probably be hard to unseat having won mroe than 70% of the vote.

I is always good when the will of the electorate is done.
