The Library Thing guy is a bit... well I'm not sure of the exact word, but I think he's conflating his competitive nature and desire to "win" with the tactics of his rival, and not always accurately. Yes, some of Shelfari's techniques were suspect, but they abandoned them and they have a healthy and active user base. Plus the site looks and functions better then LT does.
