Today Is The 25th Anniversary of The First Dotcom URL Registered
Gizmodo says On this day, back in 1985, the first ever dotcom URL was created, Symbolics.com. There were just six dotcoms registered that year, compared to the 100,000 that are created every day now.

Interesting story of an early URL that has had a lot of ups and downs over it's lifetime, and is now up on the auction block. Bidders must come prepared with a minimum of $1,000,000.00

Sex.com generated $15,000 a day in revenue at one point, according to Charles Carreon, an attorney who wrote about the Web site's legal travails in his book "The Sex.com Chronicles."
