Higher Education employment in Nevada
I have been in Higher Education for about 18 years. I'm employed with the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) . In June while I was out on sick leave, I received a letter stating that I would not be reappointed to my current position-Systems Analyst. The letter also stated that, I should report to Nevada State College on June 30, 2008 to work out the remainder of my contract.
College of Southern Nevada employees are subject to this type of treatment all the the time. Each year professional employees must sign a one year reappointment contract. If you have a bad supervisor which I did, and he does not like you, then guest what? you are issued a non re-appointment contract.
After June 30, 2009, I will not have a job. I've been with CSN for 8 years. What can I do about this type of employment practice? Since this is a right to work state.
